Champions Determined at Heart O' Texas Speedway

 Waco, TEXAS  (September 23, 2011) – Friday night was the final point night of the 2011 racing season at the Heart O' Texas Speedway.  Championships were determined in the features only program.  Racers were lined up by year-to-date point averages.

 Chase Jupe was crowned the champion of the IMCA modified class.  Ben Ketteman, Keith White, Keith Green, and Pat McGuire rounded out the top five.

Kevin Green won the title in the IMCA SportMod class with brother, T.J., with second place points.  Chris Cogburn finished the year in third, followed by Ronnie Bell, Jr., and Randy Doyle.

Andy Roller and Ray Kemp, Jr. traded the point lead for much of the season, but Roller ended up on top by one point for the championship title.  Jeremy Oliver, Michael Guenat, and Garret Rawls were the next three in line.

Husband and wife, Jason and Robin Batt finished the point season in first and second places in the I-stock class.  Keith White is third, Ed Thompson is fourth, and Matt Guillaume is fifth.

In another close call, Tommy Kirkpatrick held on to the championship by one point over Matt Hood in the street stock class.  Bobby Mercer, Jr. finished with third place points, Ed Thompson is fourth, and David Khoury ended in fifth place.

Tommy Honey is the pure stock champion with Kevin Smith, who swapped the lead with him during the season, in second place.  Third place belongs to Jeff Shepperd, fourth to Cody Shaw, and fifth to Ryan Hopkins.

Andrew Richards earned the cruiser championship although challenged often by second place driver, Marshall Sauseda.  Steve Wade, William Dean, and Billy Williams make up the remaining top five.

Jarrett Roberts took the point lead early and kept it until the end in the junior mini stock class.  The remaining top five are Alexis DePalma, Kayleigh Kornegay, Taylor Florio, and Cory Kreder.

Dena Wachsmann overtook Johnny Japort’s point lead in the Texas Twister class with only a few weeks left in the season and never let up to secure the championship.  John Fikes is third, Tommy Hultz in fourth, and James Cochran II is fifth.

Wives, girlfriends, pit crews, and friends participated in several Powder Puff and Owners’/Mechanics races to close out the program.
