ELM MOTT—Friday night’s race program was shortened by a fast-moving, intense thunder storm about 10:00 P.M. at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. Five of nine scheduled feature races were completed before the first raindrops from the approaching storm arrived.

Mike Van Cleave from Waco picked up the first feature win of the night in the cruiser class followed by James Wills from Axtell and J.J. Jenkins from Waco.

Young Garret Rawls from China Spring added to his nearly perfect win record for the season after scoring another victory in the junior mini stock class. Jordan Kornegay, also from China Spring, raced to second while Brandon Kreder from Elm Mott took third.

The pure stock winner was Melvin Kemp, Jr. local drivers Wade White and Jeff Shepperd to the checkered flag in the pure stock feature.

Waco driver, Trevor Reed, picked up the win in the Brazos Mini Sprints Open class. He was tailed by Sasha Sessums and her brother, Jeb, from Burleson.

The BMS Stock class feature winner was Brandi Jass from Bryan. Mike Hernandez from San Antonio drove to second, and Chipper Wood from Kennedale was third.

The dates for the I.M.C.A. modified, I.M.C.A. SportMod, I.M.C.A. hobby stock, and street stock make-up features will be announced later.

Next Friday night will be a regular race program for I.M.C.A. modified, I.M.C.A. SportMod, I.M.C.A. hobby stock, street stock, pure stock, cruiser, and junior mini stock classes along with a visit from the Texas Winged Modifieds. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M. and races will begin at 8:00 P.M. Check our website for more information about make-up race dates.
