Dowell Takes HOT Win

 

ELM MOTT—J. P. Dowell from Killeen was the man to catch in the I.M.C.A. modified feature Friday night at the Heart O' Texas Speedway.  Dowell took the win over Pat McGuire from Belton and Benji Kirkpatrick from Elm Mott.

 

T.J. Green from Robinson had a group of racers breathing down his neck during the entire I.M.C.A. SportMod feature.  Green reached the checkered flag ahead of Bobby Mercer, Jr. from China Spring and Keith White from Academy.

 

Top honors in the I.M.C.A. hobby stock feature went to Nathan Sodek from Temple.  Charles Cosper from Belton ran second and Andy Roller from Waco was third.

 

Veteran driver, Ed Thompson from Waco, took the street stock feature win with Mark Geurin from Whitney and Doug Andrews from Waco on his bumper.

 

Timmy Kemp led fellow Wacoans Jeff Shepperd and Melvin Kemp, Jr. to the finish line in the pure stock feature.

 

Jeff Woodruff from Elm Mott won a close cruiser feature over William Dean, also from Elm Mott, and Mike Van Cleave from Waco.

 

The top three finishers in the junior mini stock race were Garret Rawls from China Spring, Brandon Kreder from Elm Mott, and Jordan Kornegay from China Spring.

 

Nick Cooper won the Texas Winged Modified feature on a last lap pass in turn four.  Kevin Robinson settled for second and David Suggs claimed third.

Age 3 – Riley Dulock, Axtell

Age 4 – Justin Jenkins, Roth

Age 5 – Riley Black, Hallsburg

Age 8 – Zach Huser, Hewitt

Age 9 – Robby Black, Hallsburg

Age 10 – Lauren Huser, Hewitt

Age 11 – Tyler Sumerour, China Spring

Age 12 – Tyler Harris, Hewitt

Age 13 – Alex Graham, Waco

Age 14 – Jonathan Thomas, Waco

 

Next Friday night will be a regular race program for I.M.C.A. modified, I.M.C.A. SportMod, I.M.C.A. hobby stock, street stock, pure stock, cruiser, and junior mini stock.  The Brazos Mini Sprints will also be visiting.  Gates open at 6:00.
